Community rainfall data
View daily rainfall data recorded by our network of over 300 volunteer community rain readers, updated each year.
These records are combined with data from our electronic rain gauges to help us understand rainfall patterns across Melbourne – especially after heavy storms – and plan our works accordingly. It also helps us plan responses to droughts and floods, and make sure rivers and creeks have enough water to support local wildlife.
If you’re a rain reader, you can record your observations using our Community rain reader observation sheet (82KB, XLS).
