We are re-coating the Patterson Lakes Tidal Gates with an anti-corrosive paint, protecting them from corrosion so they can continue protecting the community from localised flooding.
The large, mechanical gates are located at:
- Whalers Cove (Completed)
- Runaway Bay (Marina)
- Town Centre.
Why this is important
We undertake regular maintenance to ensure the Tidal Gates operate safely and reliably. Every three months, divers de-scale the gates and inspect them to help determine when anti-corrosion works are required.
Inspections have found that a new coat of anti-corrosion paint is needed to ensure the gates continue protecting the community.
What’s happening and when
This work is being carried out in stages. Works at Whalers Cove are now completed and more information will be provided about future works when available.
What to expect
We will make every effort to minimise impacts to the community as we complete these works and any impacts involved with future works will be provided in advance.
We would like to thank everyone affected by this project for their patience during the construction period.
