Melbourne Water is proud to present Liveable Communities, Liveable Waterways as our new incentives program.

For over 20 years Melbourne Water has fostered meaningful partnerships with our customers and community through grants for waterway and stormwater management.

The new Incentives Program will grow on the success of past Grant Programs with a focus on responding to a broader range of emerging challenges that face Melbourne. Liveable Communities, Liveable Waterways offers a flexible  and streamlined application process to accommodate the needs of our customers and the community.

The program has been designed to foster new partnerships with an increased focus on innovation, liveability and collaboration.

Liveable Communities, Liveable Waterways provides our customers and community with greater access to incentives through four themes:

  • Connected Habitat and Catchments.

Includes works that focus on waterway and biodiversity protection in catchments and are aligned with Melbourne Water's Strategies.

  • Liveable Cities.

Local projects that support one or more of the following.

  • Healthy waterways,
  • green open spaces,
  • resilient urban landscapes,
  • and deliver community and environmental benefits.

  • Integrated Water Management.

Focused on influencing industry and addressing existing barriers to implementation for improved water management, ranging from a precinct to regional scale.

  • Science, Innovation & Technology.
  • Focused on the application of research and technology that support industry practices and improve how Melbourne Water and our partners work together.
