You know, people ask me for water-saving tips all the time. It’s kinda one of my things.
Well, actually, it’s more of a Melbourne thing, isn’t it? Like talking about the weather.
You know, 20 years ago, Melbourne’s average water use was 245 litres per person per day.
And then came a big bad drought. And with some very impressive water saving, you got that down to 147 litres. Go, Melbs!
Oh, let’s not be too smug because it’s crept up a bit. And with our changing climate and growing population, it’s time to bring it again.
I’m talking shorter showers, brushing your teeth with the tap off, scraping plates instead of rinsing. I mean, who rinses? Yuck!
I’m talking reaching our daily target of 155 litres per person per day or less.
I’m talking saving water.
It’s as Melbourne as talking about the weather.
