Corporate Sustainability
To help us reach our corporate sustainability goals, we have set ourselves a number of targets, which are listed as key performance indicators (KPIs) in our corporate plan.
Our workplace targets are to reduce:
- electricity usage
- water consumption
- volume of waste to landfill
- paper use.
Reducing our resource use has also become a part of our Enterprise Agreement to give staff added incentive to achieve sustainability goals.
Given the critical impact of climate change on our water, sewerage, waterways and drainage assets, we have also set ourselves some ambitious goals around using renewable energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Melbourne Water is currently participating in the GreenHouse Games, an eight week challenge where people can win points for their household and their workplace by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and the amount of water they use at home. Check out the GreenHouse Games website for more information.
