*Target was not achieved. On 7, 8 and 30 April 2007, environmental releases did not meet the required flows of 150 million litres per day at Yering Gorge (flows on these dates were between 139 million litres per day and 148 million litres per day). Releases into the river are made based on estimating travel time of flows to measuring points and other inflows to the river. These releases are usually calculated conservatively to ensure that flows are high enough at the measuring points. Due to drought conditions, releases from storages were kept to an absolute minimum with little ‘buffer’, which resulted in the breaches.
**Target was not achieved due to reasons including losses from aqueducts that were greater than estimated and reduced consumption, which resulted in a higher percentage loss.
***Target was not achieved due to the results from the Yan Yean Treatment Plant during a period of adjustment of the treatment process
